2. How will it make my life better?

Address your customer’s pain points and demonstrate your value. For example:

  • Private Healthy Chef: “Restaurant-quality meals to keep you slim – delivered to your door”

3. What do I need to do to buy?

Make the next step crystal clear. Whether it’s “Start Here,” “Schedule A Call,” or “Begin Here,” your call to action should be obvious and immediate.

The Power of Clarity

Consider these two examples for an Acupuncturist:

❌ Complex Version: “Brooklyn Acupuncture. We help you live a vibrant life.”

✅ Clear Version: “Brooklyn Acupuncture. Providing award-winning acupuncture services and traditional Chinese medicine for pain, stress, fertility and more.

Testing Your Message

Here’s a simple way to verify your message clarity:

  1. Find a stranger
  2. Show them your website header (without scrolling).
  3. Give them five seconds to read.
  4. Ask if they understand what you do and how you can help them

If they respond with immediate understanding, congratulations – you’ve passed the Grunt Test! If they look confused or have questions, your message needs simplification.
