What Is Human Design?
Before diving into my personal lessons, it’s essential to grasp what human design is and is not. Human design is a unique self-awareness tool synthesizing principles from astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, the Chakra system, and quantum physics.
Think of it like your car’s owner’s manual; it’s more about understanding how you work and using it as a reference when you feel out of alignment.
Essentially, it human design provides a comprehensive blueprint of your energetic makeup, detailing your energy, personality, and gifts. By generating a human design chart (also called a bodygraph) based on your birth details (like your place of birth and date & time of birth), you can uncover your energy type, inner authority, profile lines, gates, and life purpose, offering profound insights into your true self.
Unlike astrology or psychic tools, human design is not predictive, so you wouldn’t use it to foresee the future. It’s also not a religion or cult. It’s just information; you can use as much or as little as you like.
Lesson One: Embracing Your Energy Type
One of the first insights I gained from human design was understanding my energy type. The human design system classifies individuals into five energy types: manifestor, generator, manifesting generator, projector, and reflector.
I discovered I am a manifesting generator characterized by a multitasking genius, which allows for innovation and bold action. Previously, I saw my diverse interests as a weakness because I’ve never been great at just focusing on just one thing. ( I actually read four books within a time frame, so I can see how multiple sources complement or contradict each other.) Human design taught me to view this as a strength. By embracing my natural curiosity and drive for new experiences, I realized I could synthesize vast information to create unique, innovative outcomes. I started integrating human design in business to create what’s now known as the High-Frequency Success System.
Lesson Two: Own Your Unconscious and Conscious Design
Human design gives us insight into our profile, which includes two numbers and describes your personality and how you appear to yourself and others. I’m a 1/3. The first number represents your inner self, and the second is how others perceive you (your outer self).
My 1/3 profile represents the establisher of knowledge and the archetype. This combination indicates that I am a lifelong learner and experimenter. If you peeked into my world, you’d see stacks of books, courses, and endless notes from my voracious appetite for knowledge.
The one-three profile isn’t just about accumulating information—it’s about testing, understanding, and making it viable. By owning this part of me, I’ve allowed myself to stop judging my endless learning quest and instead embrace it as part of my process. This has enriched the value I provide to my clients as I continually bring fresh, well-tested ideas to the table.
Lesson Three: Listen to Your Inner Authority
For years, my focus on external validation and logic overshadowed my intuition. This is where human design’s concept of authority made a profound impact. My authority is emotional – meaning I need to wait for my emotions to come to a place of neutrality before making any significant decisions. (My gosh, I wish I had learned this ages ago.) When we apply human design in business, we truly understand how simply allowing for big positive and negative emotions to become neutral can help us from making decisions that could negatively impact our future.
Lesson Four: Discovering Your Gifts and Dismantling Blocks
One of the most fascinating aspects of human design is the themes behind individual gates and channels; these are the unique gifts we are born with. Discovering my own gifts was both surprising in the fact that it was notably already in my chart and affirming. For instance, I learned my voice is a significant gift; it’s not just about being a hypnotherapist but extends to speaking, narrating books, and other vocal endeavors.
When examining the charts of friends, family, and clients, I noticed how their unique gifts aligned perfectly with their personalities and life paths. However, along with gifts come potential blocks—ways we’ve been conditioned to undermine our natural abilities. Using hypnotherapy to decondition, I help clients dismantle these blocks, enabling them to fully embrace and utilize their innate gifts.
Lesson Five: Acknowledge Your Life’s Work
Another major revelation from my human design chart was acknowledging my life’s work. According to my chart, I have the cross of the rulership, indicating a natural inclination towards leadership and empowering others. This realization was a perfect fit for someone who’s felt like a leader from a young age.
Understanding this aspect of my human design has helped me confirm that I’ve instinctively been on the right path. It has inspired me to dig deeper into empowering others, helping them become the rulers of their lives, just as I’m striving to do in mine.
